Recognizing the impact that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made on unemployed Americans who lost their health insurance, a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) was created by President Joe Biden through Executive Order on January 28, 2021.  Federal assistance to provide relief to Americans harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic expands for the first time in over ten years under these plans.  The SEP opened on February 15, 2021 and runs through May 15, 2021.
